Bring it on Summer!

Happy Memorial Day friends. I hope you all had a fun filled extended weekend {for those of you who were lucky enough to get an extended weekend}. This weekend for us was much needed, although I still didn't get as much done as I would have liked but then I have to stop and remind myself that I am heading into my 3rd trimester and I can't easily move around like I normally would.

I have been admiring all the greenery within our yard. I had planted some bulbs a couple years ago. I think our first Summer in this house was when I planted them. This is the first Summer that not only did a Pink Gladiolus bloom... but also my pink Lily flower {one of my favorite flowers}. It almost seems a bit symbolic seeing as how the theme with my flowers this year seems to be 'pink' {unintended} and that we are welcoming our baby girl come the end of the Summer.

Our pool filter sprang a leak so we had to get it replaced. The guy who replaced it said it was some kind of old, probly as old as our pool {which according to records was put in, in the 80's}. So we had to tear down the little pool-pump house so it could be replaced and now we are left with the aftermath. Dirt and lots of sand. It's all good, building a new pool-pump house was on Josh's list of 'things to do'... so hopefully this will just jump start the whole project lol.

Our little Garden. Tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Plum Tomatoes, Cucumber and Zucchini. Hopefully we get some Zucchini this year. Last summer we had planted some but they never sprouted any zucchinis.

Two projects we worked on this weekend, both of which have nothing to do with one another. Hint: They both involve outdoors. Stay tuned!

Chloe was to busy being lazy taking a nap, so our other 'watch dog' was keeping tabs on the neighbor happenings.

On a whim, headed down to PCB {Panama City Beach} to check out Ripley's. We haven't been to this one yet {we went to the one in Orlando but J was only 2yrs old at the time}. It was cool... Not as big as I thought it would have been. My favorite part was the Titanic room. I think J loved all of it :)

I finally selected the fabric for Penelope's nursery bedding. I am just going to go with standard/solid color sheets and im making the crib skirt out of these fabrics {Anna Maria Horner}. I am still torn on whether to do a bumper or no bumper....

Just a few snippets of our weekend. I thought I started to get a little spurt of some sort of nesting today but that was short lived after I cleaned the entire living room top to bottom and ended with the feeling of my back being all shot to hell. Oh happy pregnancy {hehe}. It's alright though. Soon... hopefully....

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day and Happy 'unofficial' start to Summer! :)

Re-energized

Hi everyone. Another hiatus with no updates, I know but to be honest, and im not going to sugar coat it... I have felt like shit. Serious shit. This pregnancy hasn't been hard but it certainly has been a lot harder then my previous pregnancy. I will be 19 weeks tomorrow and up until about 2-3 days ago, I finally feel like I am getting my energy back. ...I know, I know, my last post which was quite a few weeks ago I said I was getting my energy back but ya, it stalled and conked out and went away. This time though, I think it's for real and here to stay {at least till my 3rd trimester anyways lol}.

So with that said, just a few photos to share. Nothing to spectacular but I ♥ taking photos!

Easter weekend at the in-laws house in Mississippi. They had a crawfish boil, Josh got pulled over by a sheriff for riding one of the 4-wheelers down the dirt road lol {no ticket though luckily}, and just some good time catching up with family.

My little boy lost his first tooth! I saw him last night picking at a tooth {or something} in his mouth and being discrete about it. When I asked him what he was doing he sort of shied away and when he answered I noticed his front tooth didn't look right and that's when I knew he was picking at his loose tooth! He was a little freaked out at first because he didn't know why his tooth was falling out but after me and Daddy talked to him about how and why it happens and that it happened to us and happens to everyone, he started to be more keen on the idea of a baby tooth falling out and a big boy tooth coming in. It didn't fall out last night but up until it did {this morning} he was regularly wanting to see our 'big' teeth because he thought it was cool. This morning he was eating his cereal while Josh and I were in the Kitchen and he interrupted loudly with 'Well guys, here it is!' as he held up his tooth. Just another reminder of how my little boy is growing up!

This weekend we started working on enclosing a section of the backyard for the dogs. They have been evicted from roaming the entire yard freely {if we are out there with them they can roam freely}. No this is not mean, this has to be done. The state of our backyard right now looks like complete trash. Chloe is a chewer. A big time, hardcore chewer and has chewed on everything in the yard. ALL my plants and bushes she has chewed up or dug up, the pillars at the end of the patio she has chewed on, the pool accessories she has chewed on and has chewed on any and every toy Jayden has had outside. Not to mention the digging of the holes throughout the yard and chewing on the patio furniture. So, ya, no more free roaming when we aren't out there with them {she doesn't do it when we are near her and yes, she has lots of chew toys and chewies to chew on}. Another reason we decided to enclose part of the yard is not only to keep the destruction under control but also for when people come over. Chloe isn't a mean girl but she is strong. Very strong and thinks she's a little lap dog and when she see's the kids playing she wants to join on in, in the fun and well, she doesn't realize how strong she is. After the fence is done we plan to build them a nice dog house too {they don't stay out all night, come night time they come inside}.

While Josh and J were working on the fence, I started cleaning out the veggie bed. Raked out all the leaves, tilled the dirt and just cleaned it up some. We won't plant anything until the dog fence is done {because as stated above, Chloe will just dig anything we plant right back up}. After this little project I did I had to go inside and take about a 45min. nap... Oh the joys of being pregnant lol!

The bump.

I am so ready for Summer to be here. Granted it already feels like Summer, living in the South and all but it's not Summer because the humidity hasn't showed up in full force yet. That is about the only thing I am not looking forward to. The stinkin humidity. I don't know how I feel about being pregnant in the dead of Summer but luckily we have the pool and I think I will be using our pool more so this summer then I have any previous summers since moving into this house! :-D

P.S- We find out if bean is a BOY or a GIRL tomorrow morning!!! Stay tuned!

Lovely Spring weekends

The end of the weekend is coming to a close and what a great weekend it was. I love this time of year, Not just because it's Spring {here in FL we really don't get much of a 'winter'..} but because the days are longer and there is just something special in the air. It obviously doesn't have a certain smell but yet in a way you just smell it.

We spent about 98% of the weekend outside. It was perfect. As in no humidity to speak of this weekend. Warm dry air? Yes please!

J is on this new kick of rescuing beetles out of the pool. Here you see him loading said beetles into his little tractor. Then he brings them over to one of the oak tree's. I guess that's where the beetle hospital is? I have officially dubbed him beetletarian ..{get it? instead of HUMANitarian, BEETLEtarian heh}.

Had some friends over, steaks on the grill, roasted red potatoes and good conversation. Awesome.

I also painted my toes in one of my new essie colors. It's not from the Spring 2012 collection but I was feeling a bit bold so I went with 'No more Film'. I did buy one of the new colors for Spring 2012 though, the 'Ole Caliente' and I can't wait to try it. {yes I have chubby toes, always have, always will. I have my Grandma's toes, for real lol!}.

We went and played mini golf. This was J's first time ever playing it. It was fun {and funny} to see him grab the ball and move it closer to the hole before tapping it in. Silly boy.

Then after 18 holes of mini golf we went out and ate on the water. Watched all the boats coming in and out and with each one passing I reminded Josh more and more of the many reasons why I 'think' we need a boat ;)

As this beautiful weekend comes to a close I am thankful for my family and the time we get to spend with each other. I cherish every moment of it. It makes me smile and fills my heart with warmth.

I am ready to face yet another busy work week head on. Going to make it to the gym every morning this weekend, even if that means I have to wake up at 4 in the morning. I already can't wait for next weekend. Can we say DATE-NIGHT! Oh yes we can because Josh and I are having a much needed date night. Just the two of us at one of our fav. places right on the water. How sweet it is!

Hope you all had a wonderful, fantastic weekend! :0)

Lush Green Weekends

I am so happy it's the weekend. After this past week it's really nice to have two whole days off to spend with the family and to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. Even though it's supposed to be cloudy and dreary all day, that isn't going to stop us from enjoying our Saturday.

One of my favorite things is the early morning. Especially today, it's overcast outside yet the sun still shines some light through the thin clouds and bit of fog.

It rained pretty hard yesterday/last night and after a good rain it's like new life is brought through to everything. Everything is greener and brighter after a hard rain. Love it.

It's like living in a rain forest with how lush and green everything is around our yard. One of my fav. spots is this back corner. It's quiet and the tree's are abundant back here. Lot's of green and all those little white 'dots' on the ground along the fence line are while little flower petals from all the dogwood tree's that line the fence. It smells gorgeous!

Bright green moss grows all along the base of our large oak tree's.

These little flowers are everywhere throughout the yard. Im not sure what they are but if you do, do tell! Some grow in groups of 2-3 where as others grow in large patches, like in the photo. Their small purple little things with large bits of green leaves that look like tall thick grass. Even if they are a weed, their a pretty weed :0)

Well I hope you all have a fantastic weekend friends! :)

Psssst... Linking up with Lindsay-

Hello Hue Little Things

Camelias, fun colors, and a sneak peek

First I want to say

GO PATRIOTS!!

As you know {or may not know} The Patriots are my home team so even though ive been living down here in ol' Florida, it really gives me the warm fuzzies when my 'home teams' win some!

Okay on to other news. Well not really news, just whats been going on the past couple days around our neck of the woods.
The Camellia bushes that run along our side yard are in full bloom right now and boy oh boy are they gorgeous! J has already picked me 3 of them :0)

Our collection of sea shells is getting larger. Still need to invest in a big ol' glass canister type dish so we have plenty of room.

Each time we go to the beach it's our little tradition to look for sea shells. Bonus points for sea glass!

I bought a large pack of sharpies. Im not really sure why I bought them because I really don't use sharpies all that much but I blame it on the fun colors.

Me + Craft stores/art material isles = bad news

Im super happy my bouquet of lilies Josh got for me over a week ago are in full bloom still.

Josh and J made this little birdhouse. J painted it red and I think it looks fabulous. Now we're just waiting for a little bird to come along and 'rent' it out.

Im slowly buying some new tops. For each top I buy I am going to donate a top that I haven't worn in forever and or don't see myself wearing again.

We originally went out this weekend to buy Jayden our growing weed some new jeans so he doesn't have to be that kid that wears high waters anymore. I know... bad mama. But he has some super cute outfits now and I couldn't resist a few new fun tops for myself :0)

AND... another sneak peek.

Those seem to be the norm. these days but sheeesh, I have been having so much fun working on new prints. These designs I worked on today. Their original sketches of mine which I uploaded to photoshop, then turned them into PS Brushes and created some new prints, which are almost ready to hit the shop. Either some time this week or by next weekend!

I also worked on 2 more fun illustration prints which I can't wait to put up in the shop. They could very well be my 2 favs. as of yet!

So there you have it. The little bits of shananigans that have been happening around our household. What have y'all been up to?

Our weekend and need opinions

{{warning- crazy camera phone pics ahead}}

How was your weekend? I know it's Tuesday but we had a 3 day weekend so not-technically, it's Monday. Heh.

We had a pretty laid back weekend. Hung around the house, Josh worked on the shower some {more on that in bit, that's where I need your opinion} and also worked on the swing set {got the walls up and the framing on the roof up}. We did go out to our favorite eatery 'Callahans' on Saturday for lunch. They have the most awesomest sandwiches. I got me the Turkey club. Yum!

On Friday though I did walk in the door to find THESE....

Sitting on the counter. Lilie's!!! My favorite! What a perfect way to end the week. Love you Josh :0)

On Saturday night we watched 'the game'. As in Pats vs Broncos. And maybe it's just me but I really don't understand the whole hype about Tebow. Im sure he is a nice guy and all but sheeesh... I actually feel bad for him. The media swarmed him into a giant frenzy nation wide. It was like everyone now held him up to certain standards and expectations... but seriously. Coming face to face with Brady and winning? Not gonna happen.

Then again the Patriots are my team... as in my HOMEteam :0)

The next game will be even more intense, thats for sure!

Even though it sucks getting up super early and going into work {Gym first actually}, the one thing I look forward to on my way in are the sunrises.

{yes, that IS my A/C on, it was quite warm this morning}

The colors of the sunrise are just gorgeous in the mornings. This morning it was especially breath taking. The sky was a mix of dark blue, blue, yellow orange and pink. It was so pretty, and because it's so early, it was so quiet outside which just adds to the ambiance.

{yes I really did just say ambiance}

But anyways, in other note worthy news and something I haven't mentioned in awhile.... MASTER BATHROOM!!

Right now we have been working on the shower. That has been our focus and our only focus for that bathroom really. But today, after talking it over Josh and I both decided that we are getting rid of the shower all together. .......KIDDING!

No the shower is very much staying, but we are going to take the jet tub out.

I know, I know, might sound crazy... but our Master bathroom isn't that big to begin with. We would utilize extra storage {seeing as how that bathroom has zero storage right now anyways} and have two vanities instead of one, a lot more then the amount of times we use the tub. Not only that, we almost never use it in the Summer cause it's just to warm out and the last thing we want to do is soak in tub filled with hot water.

Do you see any storage in there? Nope. Cause there ain't none. {the shower is off to the left}. Even the vanity contains zero storage.

If we remove the tub, we will have that entire space to add a large double vanity with lots of storage!

We're not stopping there either. We're taking the floors up, and although I love hardwood... wood+water do not mix very well and it's evident already in some spots of the floor in there. We're going to put down a really nice modern light color tile. The toilet will stay there but as far as other details... are all yet to be determined. Lots of planning ahead to do!

SO I have been asking this question a lot today @ work and im asking you now. Would you rather have a master bathroom with lots of storage space, two vanities and a large walk in shower but NO tub -or- No storage space, one small vanity with a tub? {an added note, we will still have a tub in the 2nd bathroom, located in the hallway... tub/shower combo}.

-Also, keep in mind we have a big inground pool so if you really need a bath... just go jump on in! ;)

Jack the Pelican

On Saturday, before heading to a friends house to hang out for New Years {and eat some yummy authentic Japanese food}, we went to the beach.

This is a hot spot in the Summer. Actually both Spring and Summer. Next month Spring break starts for different colleges which means the beach and shops and everything else out here will be swamped.

We enjoy coming to the Pier in the winter. Those few shorts months before the crowds show up and the roads become total chaos.

Most times when we come out to the pier we'll see the dolphins but we didn't see any Saturday.

Bummer.

What we did see were a group of people huddled around a Pelican.

When we first saw it I was like 'what the what'... I couldn't understand why a group of people were circled around this one lonely bird. I thought maybe it was injured? But then I saw the lady in the blue top taking a photo and then I realized it couldn't have been injured {yay}, so as we got closer we realized what was going on.

There was a guy with a bucket of fish and they were all taking their try at feeding him and so when he saw us walking over he asked Jayden if he wanted to try feeding the bird.

Ya... Jayden didn't really want any part in it.

Yep. He looks like a Jack. No real reason... just looks like a jack. First name that popped into my head when I saw the little guy. Strangely... I don't know anyone named Jack. Weird.

Reaching the end of the pier is pretty exhilarating. Especially when there is no one at the end. You can look out as far as the eye can see {or lens} and it's just so amazing. So refreshing and so peaceful.

That one little kayaker looks peaceful and now I want a kayak. So I can go to the ocean and go far out into the water and sit there in my kayak and breath in the fresh salty air.

Until I see a shark, ya...  then im out.

It was a good weekend. Relaxing weekends at the beach are fun, even if its only for a short time, or to pass the time like we did Saturday. Can't wait till we start planning some super-awesome beach trips! Not to mention there is this one park, not far from us, they have these little cabins right on the beach you can rent. We are in the works of possibly booking one of those cabins for the Spring.

S'mores, family, surf, sun, relaxation. Ah... yes. Can't wait!

So am I just crazy? Am I the only one already thinking about spring/summer trips?
