Life Lately....

THIS little lady is....

....7 weeks old now!

I think we are slowly both starting to fall into a routine. She is getting used to when it's 'bed time' and when we wake up in the morning and how I put her in her swing while I get some much needed coffee :)

Jayden is in his 2nd month of Kindergarten. For the most part he loves it. We have had a few rough days of not listening but the good days out weigh the bad ones.

He loves his baby sister but is still trying to get used to having her around. The boy has been the only child for 5yrs so it might take a little time.

I have already had to weed through Penelope's closet and take out the majority of her newborn sized clothes. It was extremely bitter sweet as some of the little outfits she never got to wear because I totally forgot I even had them. Taking them off the hangers with tags still attached, remembering how I was still pregnant when I bought them made me a little sad :(

I set her hospital going home outfit, the hospital hat, blanket, the onesies she wore in the hospital and 1 newborn diaper aside for her keepsake box. That was also a very bittersweet moment.

My baby girl is growing up!

Fall is upon us and I think it's gonna be a cold one! Ya... we might live in FL but we live in Northern FL, or as I like to say 'Lower Alabama/Georgia'. We had a really wet summer and typically when we have a wet summer we usually have a cold, dry winter. I'm game.

Last weekend we took a drive around the area to look at some land. Josh and I have been thinking about buying a big plot of land. Probly around 30acres. We won't do much with it right away other then build a shop/cabin type thing and go up there to camp out with the kids. Someday I hope to get some Horses again so the land will be ideal!

Life has been fairly slow around here lately. I am feeling creative to work on some projects for the Shop but little Lady loves attention and well I am a sucker for some snuggles so all shop/creating type work has been put on the back burner for the time being. I go back to work December 2 so I am taking every single moment I can with her, that's also another reason the blog has been super slow lately. It just hasn't been my main priority right now. In time, things will pick back up again.

But for now, it's all about spending time with the Fam. :)

Family day out on a Tuesday

Did I mention how I am off work this week? Oh, well I am. It's glorious and the best part? Josh decided to take a few days off too {weeee}. So today on the agenda was the beach and a boat ride. Jayden has never been on a boat before so he was extra excited. Better yet Josh and I have lived here for over 10yrs and he has never been on a boat here and this was only my second time out!

I am however trying to talk him into us getting a boat hehehe.

One good thing about this place being all touristy and what not is that we don't have to travel far to see everything.

I also want to make note that the color of the water you see in these photos is in fact the real color of the water. I haven't adjusted the hue/saturation or any other colors of these photos. I know family from back home see my photos and they always think I alter them when in fact no, our ocean doesn't need to be photoshopped.

The boat docked in the Marina.

Heading out past the Jetties, out into the Gulf!

These peeps seemed to be intrigued about something in the water....

A Dolphin! :-D

Another reason to get a boat. Great relaxation and hello... Dolphins!

Hello Flipper!

I seriously wanted to just jump in the water and start swimming with the Dolphins. Although we saw a couple Bull Sharks swimming around too so that kind of changed my plans of jumping on in.

We had a lot of fun, Jayden loved the boat ride. The weather was perfect, light breeze, lots of sun and a nice high 80 temps with low humidity. Perfect, perfect day!

Kitty-Kitty

So... totally random but I thought it was really weird that I happened to read this right AFTER posting about it.

Remember Jack the Pelican? How can you not??

Well I was snooping around the local news today and came across an article about the local Pelicans becoming to 'friendly' at the Pier, and apparently.... Jack the Pelican is not Jack the Pelican and is actually Kitty-Kitty the Pelican.

Jack?

Kitty-Kitty???

For reals?? I don't know. I like Jack. He will always be a Jack to me. Kitty Kitty is just weird. Seriously. 'Kitty' is what my grandma uses to describe ladies southern regions {seriously, long story, but oh my gosh it was so funny}. So a Pelican certainly does not come to mind when I hear Kitty-Kitty.

Cat food maybe. Pelican? um no.

But apparently Kitty-Kitty and co. have been causing a 'nuisance' over at the ol' pier. People were complaining of how they were becoming to 'friendly' and would try to chase you if you had food. SO wildlife officials removed the trouble makers and they now reside at a wild bird sanctuary.

You will be missed Kitty-Kitty Jack. Im glad I got to meet you when I had the chance and I don't care what anyone says, you were sweet as pie.

Oh and I totally did use the same photos I used a few posts ago and I don't feel one bit bad about it ;0)

Welcome Summer

There must be something in the air because lately I have just been wanting to spend ALL of my time outside. Needless to say the house has gone to the dogs [okay, seriously... not really] I have just had no desire to be cooped up inside the house when we have so much life around us. So much color and the never ending Summer sunshine.

I am originally from Massachusetts....

Ya. I don't think i'll ever be going back. How could anyone trade this for cold, long winters and beaches that have nasty brown water?

Of course a lot of time has also been spent in our own backyard oasis. The pool has been put to good use so far and will be used many, many more times this Summer.

I just love it. I love the colors, the textures, the smells, the sights... I just love it all. This is going to be one long, very fun and memorable Summer!
