Creamy House

I know, title sounds a little nasty but just keep reading. youll get it.

I decided to take today and tomorrow off from work, then it's back to normal {work} on Monday. yay.

I am currently sitting in bed with a large cup of coffee {2nd cup} and my laptop. Jayden is in the living room watching Winni the Pooh and playing with the dogs.

Oh yes I said dog{S} .... but I will update you on all of that at a later time, for now I want to talk about Thanksgiving.

I know it might be a bit early and all. heck who am I kidding. if Target is allowed to put out all of the Christmas decor before Halloween then I think its totally and socially acceptable to talk about Thanksgiving. in November no less.

This year will be extra special because we are hosting two Thanksgivings. Yes.. you read correctly. TWO. Of course the dinner on Thanksgiving day and the weekend before we will be hosting a dinner for some family. They don't get to come out this way that much but they really want to come this year. They had already made dinner plans for the actual Turkey day so we decided to have a dinner the weekend before so we can all spend some quality time and to get all the kids together.

So I have been painstakingly searching pinterest for ideas until my eyeballs dry out and my head is filled with nothing but all things brown, yellow, deep red, turkey and crannberry sauce.

I love the calm tones of this table setting and all of the randomly placed candles really make it more relaxing and laid back. I don't care for the deer antlers though. Bambi will not be gracing us with his presence this holiday season.

I love the different colors added into the traditional styles and colors that are normally used on Thanksgiving. like the green apples in the center of the table or the different colors in the pumpkins and gourds.

I also love the long box filled with pumpkins, candles and other Fall elements. I might do something like this but instead of using it as some sort of 'center piece', I will add them throughout our house to give it more warmth and coziness. I just want my house to scream FALL. Seriously.

I love this time of year. Its cold and the colors are rich and creamy and for crying out loud, I want my home to be creamy!

I also have a few other ideas that ive had my eye on for our creamy home.

im a weeee bit excited for this years Thanksgiving. Its extra special. some of the family has had a really tough year so im looking forward to them coming here and just hanging out, relaxing, putting their feet up and eating tons of yummy food.

Now to convince my Dad to fly down from Boston hehehe.

Over it!

Can I let you all in on a little secret? Pinky swear you won't give away my my little secret?

....I love Fall.

I know, not really a secret. Seeing as how the entire country seems to be baking in a pre-heated oven right about now, im more then sure you can all attest to the fact that we are looking forward to Fall. If you aren't looking forward to Fall well, then... your just weird.

Kidding!

No I don't think my readers are weird. I think y'all are lovely! Anyways I have always loved Fall. I just love how everything just seems so crisp. The smells, the food, heck even my hair. Which is a far cry from the ravaged frizz ball it becomes in the Summer [seriously, it's like a rabid animal, that's how bad it gets].

Autumn is a special time of year around our neck of the woods. Both Josh and I celebrate a birthday in Fall. Well technically I do, Josh does not [his is Sept 14, so we can still count that as a Fall Bday right?]. We live in Northern Florida and although in the Summer we get some crazy-arm-pit-sweaty hotness around here just like the rest of Florida, in the Fall/Winter we do cool down. A lot more then what a lot of people think. The humidity goes away in Mid September and the air becomes breathable again. The nights start to drop in temp. The sun sets earlier and earlier. Our leaves even change. Granted they don't get no where near as colorful as the North, but the tree's in our yard will turn red, deep brown or yellow. Some tree's however do not shed their leaves, but none the less we do get a Fall and this Massachusetts girl is so totally grateful for that.

Now let's take a peak into my Pinterest. The inspirational ideas for this year are brewing and I got my game face on. Bring it Fall!

Oh geez, im so ready. I'm pumped I tell ya. I'm over the heat and the humidity. My flowers are on the brink of death by wilt, the tree's are crinkling from the heat and we can't be outside more then 10mins. without it being to hot to actually enjoy what we are doing. And frankly. If I may.

I'm tired of going out to my car every morning before work and having beads of sweat gracing the top of my forehead just from the 20ft walk from the door to the seat of my car. Getting Jayden in and out? Ya, full on pit stain right there.

So while I head back to the store to buy my 16th deodorant stick within a month, how about you? Are you ready for Fall? Or do you just love the heat and everything that comes with it? [or are you just lucky and sweat fairy dust or something?].

Inspire me

Good morning Bloggers! What a beautiful sunny Florida morning it is over here... Well, it's only 7:30am and this time we usually have that early morning misty/dewy/fog but the sun is definitely shining. I decided to take a week off this week from work and just totally hang out at home with my little guy. I sure have missed him lately [with being at work and all]. BUT... [there is always a but right?].... I had to take my car into the dealer on Saturday. My brakes were starting to really make this bad/metal against metal kind of noise and they started to feel like they were sticking [not good]. Turns out I need new brake calipers and new brake fluid, so my other-other half [yes my car is my other-OTHER half haha] will be @ the dealer until Wednesday. Luckily Acura will give out a loaner car so hopefully this morning they have some free or else im going to have to rent one [booo].

Inspiration for $13.98

I think because it's been terribly to long, I should give you an update about the Master Bathroom progress. Well... as it stands right now, there is still a lot of work to be done. Since both of us only really have time to work on it on the weekends [all the while spending time with our J-Man] it's been hard trying to get this shower finished. That and a few other things have set it back on the agenda. One being the pool. The first day of good warm weather and it was like the gathering of the algae's. The pool was green over night. SO... after some money spend on chemicals, a new brush and a few other pool supplies, we can now focus on the Shower with the main priority of getting it finished. Luckily Josh already bought what he needed for the plumbing and has gotten the first part of the floor done. Next up is finish off the plumbing, put in the rubber mat, top layer of thin set, concrete board, tile and capital D - Done..... for at least the shower anyways.

But in the mean time my mind has been wandering off to other pretty things. One being the Dining room. Today on my lunch break I decided to take a trip to TJ Maxx and check out their Spring goods. I was head over heels for all of the pretty colors but two items in particular kept my eye craving more.

This large-fat flower pot was the perfect shade of green. It has these white flowers all around it with orange centers.

Which paired perfectly with this 4x6 quatrefoil frame.

The pot was $7.99 which I plan to use as a center piece for the dining table [with some nice flowers inside] and the frame [$5.99] is the start of some much needed color in the dining room [along with some more fun frames and pictures].

These two items are the start of something fun in the Dining room, and for the walls I was thinking some sort of blue. Not a harsh or dark blue... but something blue.

Something along the lines of Pitter Patter from Olympic. Overall im going with something fun, a little modern and 'friendly' for the dining room. I want a space that's just, well, fun to hang out in without feeling to 'traditional'.

Yum. I'm really diggin' this color thing lately. Don't get me wrong. There will be white within the room, but the pops of color? Yes please!

Can I have a turn?

Lately I have been seeing tons and tons and, oh man, just mountains of spring-inspired inspiration, all over blogland and ya know what? I absolutely love it. It's kind of weird how looking at just a photo can widen the eyes and get the oooh's and aaaah's to come out of your mouth. It's crazy, but hey... I'm not complainin! Keep em coming bloggies!

With that being said, I want to have a turn now. If I may? Do you mind if I showcase some purtty Spring inspiration? Think of it as my way of 'giving back'. I'm giving the inspiration right back to you! So sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

Refreshing isn't it? I really think this year is just all about color. Last year I would tend to shy away from color. Not because I didn't like it, I was afraid. I wasn't ready. But this year.... This year is different. I can feel it. I look at color now and talk about instant warm fuzzies... and you know when you have a warm fuzzy, it's all kinds of right!
