Today is wonderful indeed. Everyday is wonderful. It's what you make of it :)

Another reason today {and everyday} is wonderful, is because this home is filled with . Lots of

Living Simply and...

Fresh lemons are all perfect combinations for wonderful days.

Lemons remind me of Summer and fresh lemonade.

Drawings, doodles and horses

Morning everyone!

Last night when everyone was asleep, I was in my studio. I had just my white christmas lights on {up on the wall} and my desk lamp. It created such a calming sort of light in the room. It was quiet. I had my laptop shut down, so that means no music was blaring. It was quiet.

I had my new candle burning {jasmine sea salt}, and there was just a sense of calm. It was like I was totally in my own element and even though it was past midnight, the calming actually woke me up a bit and relaxed me all at the same time. -I got to work on my next project :0)

I was also sorting through some of my old drawings/doodles.

I don't have all the ones from when I was a kid or from when I was in H.S {I took drawing, Art and Painting}, unfortunately all those older works are currently residing at my Dad's house. .....probly in his basement in some box collecting dust, all lonely in the corner {booooo}.

So for now, the few from the past couple years will have to do.

I drew this horse when I was pregnant. I guess I was missing my days of riding and all my old horses {not to mention I looooove horses} that I just got that creative itch to draw.... well.... a horse of course! {hehe}

Doodles, doodles and more doodles...

And... more doodles.

I like to doodles :)

One of my flower drawings. {I like to draw flowers too}.

My lily flower I drew back in 06'. I love lily flowers, their one of my favorite flowers on the entire planet, so it's only fitting that I drew one.

When I was in the Military, a guy I worked with asked if I could draw him a 'tattoo' design. He wanted something tribal, which then led me on this kick of drawing in 'tribal' form.

Tribal horse heads of course :)

As you can see I am a doodler. I remember doodling all over my brown paper bag wrapped books from school. By the end of the year the entire cover would have doodles all over it. You couldn't even see the brown from the paper anymore. I actually kept a few of those covers but sadly, they are stored away with the rest of my old drawings and paintings from past years.

I am really excited to get back to the drawing board {no pun intended}. Working on some new projects, it's like im being brought back to my ol' roots again. The creativity and inspiration is just running through my veins and it gets me so pumped each and every time I step foot into my studio.... and im loving every minute of it!

Now im off to do some organizing around the house. Is it to early for Spring cleaning??

Also- I am now on 'Blog Lovin'! Woohoo. I'm still learning about it, slowly but surely. Im breaking out into the techno world, for reals!

I hope you all have a fabtabulous Tuesday!

Autumn art - c/o 3yr old

I think my love of color and painting was passed on to Jayden. he loves to draw, paint and color and the facial expressions he makes while doing so are priceless. it's like he is in deep thought. hard concentration paying extra attention to every line and curve.

today we were on the hunt for some acorns and leaves.

thomas the train pajama pants - check

shoes - check

no shirt - check

just when I thought it was starting to cool off, heavy rains dragged some left over humidity right back in. lets hope come tomorrow morning it's gone again {and for good}.

so we had our acorns. next we needed to scour the yard for some cool looking leaves.

now that we had everything we needed and lola sniffed just about every inch of the yard once over, again for the 1637836484 time... we were ready to head back inside and work on our art project.

I gathered some craft paint in various autumn-ish colors.

and then came the fun part. dipping the bottom parts of the acorns into some colorful autumn paint.

J's came out far better then the one I did {the one on the left... ha!}

while the acorns were drying we worked on the leaves. painting one side and then 'stamping' them down on a canvas.

then taking some acorns shells that snuck into our acorn bowl, we stamped little circles throughout the canvas.

and now we have some fun 3yr old autumn canvas art!

J totally did all this.. well I created the 'brush strokes' around all the leaves to make them stand out more and added a few circles with an acorn shell, but everything else is all him.

this was a simple fun little fall project to work on with him and since we both love color and paint, it made it that much more fun!

we have two large cork boards in the office and as you can see I like to hang up a lot of the art he makes at 'school'.

I love looking at all his little works of art and all of his creations. its like seeing his personality out on paper in fun and various colors and shapes. once the leave art dries we will be adding it to his little 'picasso wall' :)

{as for the acorns... their still drying. stick around to see what we make with them}.

I'm back with yet another freebie fellow bloggettes. The past couple of nights I have been working on my Art projects [Acrylics and watercolors] and also working on some Photoshop art projects also. The Photoshop pieces are simple and colorful. Nothing to dramatic, but really focusing on the color which is inspired by Spring.

Enjoy the few designs and remember - No downloading necessary. Just click on the image and than print from your printer. Ba-da-bing, Ba-da-boom.

I <3 Photoshop. It's a great program to create some inexpensive wall-art and did I say how addicting it is??

My inner Picaso

Hold onto your hats boys and girls. This lady has a confession to make.

[Dun dun dunnnnnnnn].

I am a closet Artist. Or at least I like to think I am. With the recent antics of breaking out my inner color-wild-child [decorating], it has really inspired me to get back into what I used to love doing all the time.

Here is my last 'project' I created. It was about 3-4yrs ago. I think it was when I was pregnant. Of course this was just a pencil drawing, with lots of shading [the 'grass' is just cheap filler]. Shading is one of my favorite art techniques, however lately I have been really inspired with Illustration [pen and ink drawings and using water colors].

****

Arn't those some cute prints!? The lines, colors and design have inspired me to pick up that pen and brush and get back to it. Of course I don't have any fancy-schmancy degree's in Art or Illustration, but I have always loved to draw. In H.S I took Intro to Fine Art, Fine Art I, Drawing I and II, Painting, Pottery and Sculpture. I don't really plan to take any in my current college classes. I just think Art is one of those things that you have to be inspired. You have to really enjoy doing it. You can be taught techniques and pointers, however no amount of learning can make you enjoy doing it. You either love it or hate it.

It's been 3-4yrs since I was Inspired. I'm happy that my mojo is back and I can't wait to share what I create with you, and also incorporate some of my pieces into my own home!
