5 Years

Yesterday we reached a big milestone in our household.

What milestone you say?

Our little guy turned ...... wait for it ....... wait for ... it ..... 5!!!

Ya I still can't believe it. Even my coworkers were in disbelief in the fact that he was 5 already. Heck... seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with him. It for reasons like this, the fact that he is 5 already, that this pregnancy and this new baby, I will have to step back every so often and remind myself just how fast time goes by.

I was going to keep him home from school yesterday but he had a field trip that he really wanted to go on. They went and visited the Fire Station and got to see all the fire trucks.. etc. The night before I made him some dino-style cupcakes.

And we brought them to school for yesterday, so not only did they have the Fire Station field trip but then they came back, had lunch and then cupcakes!

I knew I wanted to make him a cake. We bought a small 'store bought' cake at Publix when my Dad was still here visiting, nothing big, just something but I was not impressed with the cake. It tasted dry, but whatever.

Yesterday though. The BIG day, I wanted to make him his very own cake. So I made him a rainbow cake and his face lit up when we cut into it. 'WOW!! Colors Mama, all them colors! That's so cool!!'.

So what did he get? We got him a Lego set he has been wanting, a pack of hot wheels cars, some candy {of course we put them up after he opened them and reminded him it was only for a treat every once in awhile}, some markers, coloring book, letter writing book and some racing cars and since it was during the week and we don't have much family that live near us {well any family actually}, it was just us. Which is fine by me. This weekend we might take him and some friends {and their kids} to see 'Escape from Planet Earth'.

Happy Birthday to my little guy!

Happy Birthday

I woke up this morning and after a few rounds of stretches and making a big ol pot of coffee it dawned on me.

Today is my Birthday. Ta-da!

Of course I knew it was my Birthday today. I mean how coooool is it to have a Birthday on a FRIDAY? And the fact that I took today off from work because it's {my birthday} {on a friday}?? Or that yesterday after getting Jayden loaded up in the car to head home after a loooong day and putting my key into the ignition and realizing that my car wasn't starting? Oh that's right... of course it wouldn't start because the very next day is... my Birthday!! {don't worry, car finally started after being jumped... although the battery is brand new so next week im taking it in to be checked out/serviced}.

I am now that much closer to 30. It's all good though. Honestly I never can picture myself being this 'old'. maybe it's because im the baby in the family and 27yrs old isn't really 'baby' anymore. it's grown-up. like real time grown-up. do you know what I mean? it seems like just yesterday I was 18 and that sometimes it still feels like like im 19/20 when I think about my age, which I guess isn't such a bad thing but I will admit. im at that point now where sometimes when people ask me how old I am, I really have to think about it for a split second before answering. a few weeks ago I told someone I was 25 and then had to slap the silly out of me and remember I was in fact 26, about to be 27.

weird.

For now I will share 27 random things I like this very first day of being 27, on this fine cold fall day.

in no particular order.

My outlook for 27

I think it will be a good year. I see more school in my future. More creativeness. More family adventures. More plans for our future as a family.

I see a more positive outlook no matter what life throws in my face.

I think 27 will be a good year.

I guess now I can say 'in my late 20's' right?

:-)

I lost the time

This week has been hectic.... hence my lack of posting. But not to worry peoples, I will be back in full force next week! Of course now im sure your wondering what Ive been doing right? [Ya I didn't think so either ;) ]. Well last Sunday was our little guys 3RD BIRTHDAY. I know... I really can't believe it either. Seems like just yesterday he was calmly napping away in his swing and now he is running around the house, throwing puzzle pieces everywhere and yelling on about how he wants poo-poo punch [toddler speak for purple punch = Juice].

My peanut went from this little-itty-bitty thing to

This 'big-boy' in the matter of a blink of an eye. Seriously... 3yrs!!! Where does the time go? If you find it can you return it back to me??

So this weekend we are going to be celebrating his BDay party with family. We're packing the truck up, dog in tow and heading to Mississippi. Tomorrow we will be having the party complete with about 35-40 family members, which leads me to why my week has been hectic. Between my regular 40hr work week, hitting the gym in between and taking care of my family, I have also been trying to plan for this party because honestly, I have never planned a party for that many people before. Maybe 10 people at the most. My head is spinning and I have all kinds of food 'plans' and decoration 'plans' running through my head... So with that said I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to catch up come Monday!

Halfway to getting old

Although I feel old already. ha! If you couldn't guess already today is my Birthday. *26* years ago today I made my debut into the world.

I'm not sure where the time has gone. It just seems like yesterday I graduated High School.. [Okay maybe not yesterday, but it sure feels like it happened only a few short years ago].

Not to much on the agenda today. Although I dream of sitting at a little cafe in Europe, drinking some espresso... I will however be at work, fun. But I did make cookies!

Cookies make everything better.

If only they made my Butt and thighs look better.
