Okay, so without going into to much detail, Josh and I have decided that in about 3yrs time we are putting our house up for sale and we're moving. Moving out of Florida and alllllll the way back up to the Northeast [New England]. In a nut shell, we're just tired of living in a tourist area, tired of the tourist traffic, tired of nothing but 'touristy' things to do. Not to mention the fact we want to be closer to family again [granted his family lives in Mississippi and mine lives in New England, however the jobs are zero-to-none in Miss. where as our chances for finding jobs with our career fields are a lot better in the North].
So last night I was looking at houses for sale in Mass. Just to kind of get an idea of 'what you get for the price'. I already know the cost of living up there is a lot more than it is down here and as much as I would looooove to buy a home right in my hometown [and also where my Dad and stepmom still live], there is no way we would be able to afford it, with houses there selling for 300K or more. So I just did a general search throughout Massachusetts and I came across one little gem that stopped me dead in my tracks. I have seriously been looking over this house, over and over again. And for the price, with the land, I am shocked.
Look at that cute little cottage. Isn't that just darling!?
There is the house looking up from the backyard. Can you imagine how gorgeous all of those tree's are around Fall time?!
Although the Kitchen isn't 'open', it's still very charming with those windows and that cabinetry is so very lovely.
The living room with french doors leading into a sunroom and also french doors leading to the outside patio.
A quaint little stairway with more of those cottage-style windows [love!!].
This would be such a cute room for Jayden, and that little doorway leads to another room for extra play space!
The bedrooms, although need some work [paint], are just so charming with the fireplaces and those windows!!
The sunroom, overlooking the large backyard. Look at all that woodwork. Amazing! There is also a fountain as you can see in that top photo. Not sure if it's working or not [it looks original] but if it did that would be pretty neat.
Some of the bathrooms, which have been redone.
And lastly... the yard. All those tree's and bushes... Love it. The yard is also a very nice size and nice and flat. Great for Jayden to run around and play with Lola!
The stats on the house are that it was built in 1925, so it's an old cottage house. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and amazingly has 2,701sqft [that's pretty big!]. It's listed as a 'Classic English Cottage' that sits on 1.62 acres and is currently priced at 199K.
So there is my dream home. I know, it's not massive or a Mcmansion by any means but it oooozes charm and that is what I love in a home. The charm. The different rooms, windows, woodwork.... just beautiful. I still can't stop thinking about this house. I'm almost tempted to write the Realtor and ask if they can hold it for... oh another 3yrs.... Or maybe they offer Layaway? ha!

Wow. Kasey, the price for that is awesome. I have never been that far north, but it looks beautiful. We also are saving up for our home and hopefully will be in it in the next couple of years as well. Good luck to you!!
